PROPERTY OVERVIEW-

‘Mystic village’ is crafted in a community-styled concept where you are free to choose in which house to stay and where to eat where you reach after a 2 km walk through Deodar trees and panoramic views of Khajjiar. The folk tradition is still alive in this village where members help each other in good and bad times. This community stay tradition is a very crucial element in hosting their guests as this system provides financial support to each household when the guests live at different houses of the village during their stay.

STAY-

‘Mystic Village’ is deeply infused with the culture of the region—and stands out for the opportunities they offer to get to know the local community. You have 5 houses here are ideal homestays in Khajjiar to choose to stay. The houses are rustic, purely made of mud and clay, their roofs being made of old slates, here are two special cottages specially handcrafted for you which add more design elements complementing the interiors of the rooms. From the handcrafted lights to the paintings on the walls, everything speaks of the rich art and culture of the ‘Gaddi” community.

FOOD-

In breakfast, they offer stuffed or sometimes simple paratha with pure ghee, curd, and chutneys. Don’t worry they have continental options as well, like butter toast, pancakes, shakes, etc. The lunch and dinner have simple and authentic Himachali cuisines like rajma, dal, rice, a vegetable called “kasrod” (a vegetable which grows only on a mountain top), ‘saag’, “Makki ki roti” (wheat bread), etc. Don’t forget everything is straight from their own farms.

EXPERIENCE-

-During 1-2 hours of village walk, you experience the local culture, tradition, dresses, and language of the locals.
- The villagers still wear their traditional “Gaddi attires”, which is somewhere lost in towns and cities of Himachal Pradesh, and speak the “Gaddi” dialect.

-You can even interact with warm and humble villagers, visit the local school of the community which is the only school in the area, volunteer and teach the students, share your different experiences with them, etc.

Mesmerized by the sheer beauty of the place and warmth of the people The mystical beauty unfolds in front of your eyes in Not on Map Mystic Village. The trek of 2 KM's through the huge trees rewards you in every sense once you reach the place. The trek itself with the cool breeze touching you and your senses keep your feet moving towards the goal. This is community living in its truest sense. A small village and its people have tied up with Not On Map to provide alternative sustainable livelihood as well as an opportunity for people like me and you to experience this kind of living. The accommodation is basic with clean washrooms outside the room ..actually truly speaking the whole mountains are your accommodation. The hosts Shankar, Anup, Madan and so many people from the village are very welcoming. The food is simple, healthy and tasty. The view is spectacular...J&K, Spiti(Pir-Panjal), Dhauladhar mountain ranges with their snow-capped peaks right in front of your eyes....a visual feast ...the icing on the cake being the huge Deodar trees providing the lush green view. This is a must-visit...my only regret I was there for only one night. Definitely plan to come back with a few more friends

Amazing experience! Definitely recommend! Our stay at Mystic Village was incredible! The location is like no other you can see how the locals live and at the same time weak up with a panoramic view of the Himalaya. The staff is unbelievably nice and helpful. They took care of us as if we were family staying over. It was such a good experience and I definitely recommend it
