STAY:
Soreng Homestay is a 4 cottage property amidst an organic farm and coffee plantation. The cottages are eco-friendly made with a combination of stone, wicker, bamboo and stones. Each cottage has a separate washroom with geyser facility. They also have a library next to the cottages for you to indulge in reading in this quaint setting.Â
FOOD:
Soreng Homestay is an organic and eco-friendly farm, therefore everything from vegetables to electricity they use is produced by eco-friendly and organic ways. They use a combination of electricity and solar energy in their Homestay. The food served is purely organic food with a blend of Nepalese culture. The hosts are also expert in baking, so you can always ask for scrumptious cakes and cookies.In the breakfast, they mostly offer poha; omelets, toast, sandwiches etc and the lunch and dinner have simple dal, rice, sabzi, chapati with a blend of Nepalese culture.
EXPERIENCES:
Head out of your cottage for a community walk where you meet friendly villagers who mostly belong to Nepalese culture and tradition which is a beautiful experience, to live a local life for a day. Enjoy the local rural community food and participate in their daily life activities. Walk through the orange orchards to a hundred-year-old monastery. The Monastery Museum houses manuscripts and artifacts from the 17th century, each piece has a story to tell and the monk will be happy to give you a tour.
HOW TO REACH :
If you are flying Bagdogra Airport is the closest airport and the farm is just 2.5 hours drive. If you are coming by train then from New Jalpaiguri railway station, the farm is just 2.5 hours drive. By road, the nearest bus stop is also New Jalpaiguri from where you can take a taxi. the host will co-ordinate with you after your booking.Â
